The brief
A mentorship marketplace that needed to do two jobs properly: help someone find a mentor who actually fits, and take payment for the session without losing them on the way.
Built for a client in career mentorship. We don't name clients without permission — happy to talk specifics on a call.
The challenge
Marketplaces fail in the gap between interest and payment. A visitor has to browse mentors, trust one, pick a time, and pay — four chances to leave. Payment friction in India also means Razorpay rather than Stripe, so the checkout had to be built around it.
The approach
Next.js App Router with Firebase for auth and data, Razorpay for checkout. The mentor directory filters by domain so the shortlist stays short, and booking runs straight into payment instead of bouncing the visitor into a second flow. The landing page is a full dark UI built to read like an established company from the first screen.
